2010 Schedule

Season 2010 was a turning point as  Marco Borciani  and Mirco Guandalini were able enough to see an opportunity in what was a profound crisis in professional sports . They both wanted to continue battling for the top in an ever more hard-fought championship, where  7 manufacturers were competing  and with  growing audience behind.
Borciani decided to join forces with  Mirco Guandalini, whose rival team he had battled against on the national tracks  for the category title and  in the world championship for  the best privateer honour.
The two managers developped a project  bringing each own's different abilities . The project was built around  Jakub Smrz, who has enormous potential.  Born in 1983, the Czech , who made his debut in  250 World MotoGp in 2007 , switched to World  Superbikes, where he proved his skills from the beginning, and made him now one of the top riders of his category. He finished tenth in the standings  last year,  taking a  podium result  at Assen,  the pole position and the fastest lap  at Misano.  Smrz will benefit from a top class
technical team in the newly born PATA B&G Racing and will ride two  2010 Ducati 1198 , one of the most competitive bikes of the category.
The team will also line up the young  Ravenna-born  Lorenzo Baroni in World Superstock 1000, who will try to establish himself as one of the top riders of the category  in the seat of a  Ducati 1198.

Marco Borciani

Marco Borciani made his debut as manager of a racing team in 2006. He was not only a rider anymore, but a team manager as well. And he was equally successful at both. As a rider he won the national Superbike title twice,  in 2006 and 2007. As a  team manager , he went really close to a podium result with his team, resurrecting  Ruben Xaus, who was coming after two bad MotoGP seasons . The next year, the team made a step forward as the first prestigious results arrived and the media coverage was bigger than ever. Ruben Xaus took a podium at  Assen and won  at Valencia , finishing the championship in sixth place. Borciani won the national title again. All these results  made the team one of the most competitive in Superbike. The results obtained  with a work method and ability to create a relaxed environment, helped the team  sign Max Biaggi, who after making his Superbike debut in 2007, joined  Ruben Xaus to make a dream team who would make the fans go mad. Alex Polita was also acquired to race in Superstock. The team had a great season as the two WSBK riders went  nine times on the podium, one of which was a win. Polita ended the season in third place after failing to win the title in the last round.
The team was now one of the top squads , Biaggi and Xaus got offers from rival teams and eventually switched  to  Aprilia and BMW respectively.
Borciani had to change the team, and started the next season  lined up with British Superbike champion  Shane Byrne and Alex Polita. Unfortunately, the economic crisis forced the team to keep only Byrne , who finished the championship in eighth place, taking a podium at Misano.
It was four years in the young history of Marco Borciani's team, who was without any shadow of a doubt the best privateer in Superbike, where the entire crew demonstrated their competence. This brought a series of great results:

2006 WSBK Ruben Xaus 14th  CIV Marco Borciani WINNER

Mirco Guandalini

Mirco Guandalini, former professional football player  and motorcycling enthusiast , got interested in  the world of racing in 2003.
His adventure started in 2004 in the Italian Superbike  Speed Championship with Paolo Blora and took part  as a Wild Card in the Italian rounds  of World Superbikes starting  from his first season . The brilliant results obtained persuaded  the team owner  to invest more and his  rider  Norino Brignola won  the Italian Superbike Championship.
Luca Conforti  also made his debut in World Superbikes the same season.
The next two seasons saw the team at the top of the national championship, finishing fourth in 2006  and second in 2007 , still  with  Norino Brignola in the seat of the bike.
The team made their  full-time debut  in World Superbikes in 2008.
A young and promising  rider from the Czech Republic was acquired , Jakub Smrz, who proved to have great potential.
The team  had a 2009 season  during which Guandalini was joined by Pierfrancesco Chili, as sports manager. Smrz was joined by Brendan Roberts, who sustained an early injury.
Smrz powered to the pole position  at Misano and scored the team's  first podium in WSBK, taking third place at  Assen  and finished the season in tenth position in the riders standings.
In the national championship, team Guandalini won the title again after having done the same in  2005. Norino Brignola became Italian Superbike champion yet again  as the team proved to be one of the most important ones  both nationally and internationally.
